Poem #8: The Matrix
A poem from an office cubicle.
Data, the bits of our society
Generous to those with tenacity
All you need is a connection to WiFi
But this is the greatest lie
Monoliths of steel, wires, electric
Surrendering your freedom click by click
Screens absorb the minds
We live in scary times
An eternally consuming system
It only works for them
But we subscribe to this
Rather than face the abyss
Society are the bits of our data
You can see it if you're meta
